Input Media today announced a key strategic allaince with Octopus.
David Johnson, MD, Input Media said: “We’re excited about working with Octopus on providing an integrated production and technology solution for some of our respective clients and believe this will result in an even greater viewer experience every time. Our companies share common objectives and when Input Media got the opportunity to stream for The FA Cup draws, England U21 matches and the Euro 2012 qualifiers, it seemed a natural fit to work with Octopus as it allowed us to find a speedy, powerful and economic solution for our clients.”
Andrew Eborn, CEO, Octopus commented: "Working together is an excellent strategic fit for Octopus and Input Media. Our respective areas of expertise form a perfect match for creating a one stop, compelling solution for our customers. Both of us have excellent contacts in sport and the wider media for which this type of live production, streaming and digital delivery expertise is ideally suited."
Gary Lovejoy, Vice President International TV Production, Sport Five added: "We asked Input Media to stream eight matches at the start of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign and their response, with the addition of Octopus, was magnificent. They met our deadline and were also able to offer a very efficient service."
Input Media required Octopus to install some of its encoders into its production centre resulting in the two companies already having streamed up to eight simultaneous football matches at any one time. The OctopusMT system used enables the storage, management and global delivery of video to any digital device with unparalleled quality and functionality.
